Models and Prototypes

Take It For A Test Run

Once you’ve designed your product and engineered the powered parts to function properly—how do you actually validate that the product you’ve had designed will really work?

With all of the advances in 3D modeling technology today, it might be easy to consider skipping the modeling process. But of all the components of product design and development, Modeling and Prototyping might be the most crucial. If you are interested in getting true feedback on the ability of your product to meet market needs, a physical, working (or semi-functional) prototype can make the user experience more real than any drawing.

Models and prototypes fulfill a few core needs of your product design engagement. Prototyping and modeling can be a powerful tool and evaluating and testing your designs can help better understand production costs and potential issues, and can help you sell your product idea to people who think more visually.

Helix can help you evaluate and verify your ideas, designs, and challenges throughout your design development by leveraging our in-house prototyping services.

Prototyping is done in our HD LAB, and may include:

R
Mock-ups
R
Soft models
R
3D printed parts
R
Resin casting
R
Appearance models
R
and more
In addition, our rapid prototyping Objet Eden350V Polyjet printer creates high quality parts with production level accuracy that help to minimize product development risks. The Eden350V “PolyJet™ technology enables horizontal layers of just 16-micron (0.0006″), exceptionally fine details, and ultra-thin walls down to 0.1-0.3mm typical (accuracy varies according to the geometry, part orientation and print size).”

Do you have product designed that you’d like to see mocked up and in real life? Contact us today for more information on how we can help make your newest product a success.
