VGo Communications, Inc partnered with Helix to develop their flagship videoconferencing robot. The objective was to create the industrial design for a robot in this new market segment. We created an experience for the user with a clean and non-intimidating aesthetic, appropriate ergonomics, interface, height and a quiet, mobile product. While developing the look and feel of the device the team needed to maintain critical features such as line of sight, sensor placement, and chassis requirements. Other areas of focus were internal cable management and component placement, as well as service access. The VGo is currently on the market being used in multiple industries.
